In this class, Marty Wagar will look to the past to explain the WHY of today and the likely components of our future. This isn’t just a trip down memory lane. It’s an enlightening and lively discussion about what the GSEs want, desktop and hybrid appraisals, property data inspectors, and how AI and AVMs are changing how we work.
To figure out what’s next, you’ve got to understand what came before — and how those events shaped our industry’s present. Ultimately, this class is about the future of appraisal and how we can prepare for it.

Refund requests must be submitted in writing at least 24 hours before the start of class. Refunds cannot be issued once we are within the 24-hour window prior to class.
Registrations Within 24 Hours of Class:
If you register within 24 hours of the start time of a scheduled class, you are not eligible for a refund if you miss! Instead, you will only be eligible for a one-time transfer credit.

Course Author
Martin J. Wagar has been a real estate appraisal professional since 1974. He’s certified in Michigan & Florida, holds a Michigan real estate broker’s license, and is a REALTOR® emeritus. Martin has an IFA-s designation through the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers and an RAA designation through the National Association of Realtors®.
In 2009, Martin founded the AMC Midwest Appraisal Management Group. After retiring in 2014, he helped bring the entire appraisal process “in house” for a large mortgage company overseeing appraisal quality control and regulatory compliance in 14 states. As president of Wagar & Associates, Martin provides consulting service and is a nationally recognized expert on appraising, appraisal regulations, and compliance.
