Host Bryan Reynolds
Special Guest, Scott Reuter
Bryan Reynolds sits down with Freddie Mac Chief Appraiser, Scott Reuter, for a conversation about how Freddie Mac is responding to and guiding appraisers through this crisis…
Due to the COVIS-19 pandemic, the GSEs revised their appraisal inspection and reporting requirements. On March 23, Freddie Mac announced temporary appraisal flexibilities that were effective immediately for all Mortgages in process and are to remain in place for Mortgages with Application Received Dates on or before May 17, 2020.
Watch this Special Edition Webinar to learn about evolving issues and additional announced flexibilities. We will also be answering your questions and concerns.

A discussion on appraising amid natural disasters and COVID-19
Special Guest, Diana Jacob
Coronavirus, or COVID-19, has created an environment of fear and uncertainty. With our worlds seemingly turning upside down, we must keep in mind a protocol of “Safety First.” But what does that mean?
On this episode of The Appraisal Report Webinar, we’re having an in-depth discussion on appraising during an unforeseen pandemic. This is truly an invisible natural disaster.
We’re discussing how to prepare for emotional interactions with occupants, the effects that COVID-19 is having on the appraisal industry, state/federal guidance, and what this means for your day-to-day work.
Also, we created a PDF containing all the documents discussed during the webinar.

Host Bryan Reynolds is joined by two special guests – Billy Phillips and Steve Kahane.
Billy Phillips is a practicing appraiser who stood up for himself after receiving a complaint. Billy went on the offense and his outcome was successful.
Steve Kahane, a certified residential appraiser from Texas, joins us for this scorching topic of discussion. Kahane recently authored the article My Complaint with Complaints. “The complaint system against appraisers has serious flaws that hurt good, honest appraisers.”
When receiving a complaint:
– Don’t panic
– Don’t consent to an agreed order without exploring options
– Get help- An attorney, consultant, or both!
– Admit fault if you are at fault
– Don’t accept discipline for something you didn’t do
Tune in Thursday, June 6th at 10:00am Central and bring your questions for Bryan, Billy and Steve.
We sit down with John Brenan, Vice President of Appraisal Issues at The Appraisal Foundation, to discuss a variety of issues, including: – Questions pertaining to USPAP – ASB’s recently adopted 2020-21 changes to USPAP – AQB’s changes to appraiser qualification criteria – PAREA: what is it and what does it mean to you?
We broach the subject of trainees: What are the pros and cons of appraisal assistance? Is bringing on a trainee worth the trouble? Could a trainee add value to your appraisal practice or are you simply training your future competition? Bryan will be joined by Brianne Ledbetter and Clay Wells, two seasoned appraisers and appraisal-shop owners with trainee experience (good and bad).
The Appraisal Report – Special Edition with Jim Park, Executive Director of The Appraisal Subcommittee.
Appraiser eLearning’s Hal Humphreys and The Appraiser Coach, Dustin Harris, discuss the business of appraising real estate.
Bryan Reynolds and Craig Morley discuss the upcoming 2019 Appraiser’s Conference and Trade Show (ACTS). Learn more about this event and why it’s important to join your state associations!
On this episode Bryan Reynolds and “The Attorney,” Craig Capilla discuss how to keep your workfile safe from legal scrutiny. The workfile is one of the least understood and most frequently deficient parts of an appraiser’s practice. Despite USPAP and state laws establishing rules for maintaining a work file, the emergence of modern technologies and subscription-based (public) data have combined to blur the lines of the traditional workfile. In an era where it is easier than ever to preserve records, the appraiser has less guidance than ever on what to preserve.
This is a special episode with a stacked cast! AeL’s Bryan Reynolds is joined by two very special guests – NAA president, John Dingeman and Dustin Harris, AKA the Appraiser Coach – to discuss all that happened in the Appraisal industry in 2018. It has been a crazy year; Bryan, Dustin and John will give you their Year-End Reviews for 2018 as well as a synopsis of what they think YOU can expect as we look ahead to next year. We’ll be polishing off the ol’ crystal ball and making our predictions 2019.
Bryan Reynolds is joined by special guest and frequent contributor Tim Andersen to discuss COMPLAINTS – What are the most common complaints? What are best practices for avoiding complaints? What do you do if you receive one? For the everyday, boots-on-the-ground appraiser, getting a complaint filed against you or a letter from the state board can be devastating. Learn how to manage yourself in this time of crisis and, better yet, learn how to avoid it altogether.
Bryan Reynolds is joined by special guest, Mike Brunson, to discuss Bifurcated Appraisals. This is a trending topic. As more hybrid appraisal products continue to flood the market, appraisers have good reason to remain skeptical. Tune in on Thursday as we shed light on the growing trends surrounding Bifurcated/Hybrid appraisals and what it means to you – the boots-on-the-ground appraiser.
Bryan Reynolds is joined by frequent contributor/Course Author, Scott Cullen, to discuss the importance of staying current with land values, and how easy it is to get off track.
