Course Description
This course offers an advanced guide to best practices in appraisal review. The goal is to provide real estate professionals with a consistent means of developing and communicating appraisal review assignments in accordance with USPAP. In addition, this course covers updates to USPAP and highlights any specific changes made in the preceding years. Students will complete practical exercises, review examples of review appraisals, and discuss the proper methods, as articulated by USPAP for the development and reporting of a review appraisal assignment. By the end of this class, participants will have a better understanding of how to review appraisal reports for USPAP compliance. They will have a working knowledge of Standards 3 and 4, as well as all aspects of review appraisal best practices.

- Analyze best practices for appraisal review
- Determine scope of work necessary for appraisal review assignments
- Unravel the differences/conflicts between Scope of Work Rule and Assignment Conditions
- Uncover the difference between what “I” would do and what USPAP requires
- Find out why assignment conditions are not necessarily required Scope of Work requirements
- Find the best methods to address assignment conditions v. scope of work.
- Hit upon the highlights of the various GSE assignment conditions and how they apply to scope of work
- Review a proper statement of scope of work
- Look at the three cardinal rules of appraisal review
- Identify the fundamentals of scope of work development
