Course Description

This class is designed to provide real estate appraisers with an overview of restricted and oral appraisal reports, as defined in the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP). These reporting options are often underutilized by appraisers but can be valuable tools in certain situations.

In this course, participants will learn about the characteristics and requirements of restricted and oral appraisal reports, including when they may be appropriate and how to produce them. The course will cover the differences between these types of reports and full appraisal reports, and explore the benefits and limitations of each.

Participants will also gain an understanding of the USPAP requirements related to these reporting options, including the required elements of each report and the responsibilities of the appraiser in providing accurate and reliable valuation results.

Upon completion of this course, participants will have a greater understanding of the options available for reporting appraisal results and will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to produce restricted and oral appraisal reports when appropriate.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define and distinguish between restricted and oral appraisal reports and full appraisal reports.
  • Identify the situations where restricted and oral appraisal reports may be appropriate.
  • Explain the characteristics and requirements of restricted and oral appraisal reports.
  • Discuss the benefits and limitations of restricted and oral appraisal reports.
  • Analyze the USPAP requirements related to restricted and oral appraisal reports.
  • Produce a restricted or oral appraisal report in compliance with USPAP requirements.

Course Reviews

See what students are saying

“Very high quality. Most importantly, Bryan is very engaging and knowledgeable. I appreciate his willingness to answer questions regarding the real world application of a lot of these concepts. I’ve been in other courses where the instructor is almost robotic and there isn’t a culture of care or any time for Q&A. Overall, I appreciate everything that Appraiser eLearning does for working appraisers and this industry. I can’t thank y’all enough!”
