Course Description

Solar photovoltaic systems are a thorny problem for residential appraisers and their clients. In this course, you’ll learn to appraise homes with solar panels and find out what lenders expect of appraisers who are valuing properties equipped with Solar PV.

Course Goal

The problem to solve: How, When, and Why to Value Solar

After completing this course, students will understand the GSE requirements and their expectations for properties with solar.  We’ll cover the circumstances in which you need to consider the contributory value of solar; methods of valuation via the three approaches to value; and resources, case studies and trends. The course will give appraisers the knowledge to competently appraise properties with solar photovoltaic systems.
